Gunpowder is a Chinese green tea from the province of Zhejiang, which has been produced since the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). The tea leaves are roasted in hot wok pans and then rolled into small balls. This produces a tangy, strong taste, which is also alluded to in the name (gunpowder).
