Sannenbancha is a very unique Japanese green tea and a rarity. The three-year storage, the selection of coarse/older stems and leaves, and the subsequent roasting result in a particularly soft, slightly sweet (special polysaccharides), earthy roasted flavour, almost without caffeine. The Sannenbancha is matured for 3 years. The effects when drunk: blood purification, skin problems, diabetes, metabolism, heart, against radioactivity.
Preparation
Per cup, pour 100°C hot water over 2-3 g of tea and steep for 3-5 minutes or for a stronger cup, boil for 5-10 minutes in a pot of water over low heat.
To serve as iced tea, pour hot water over the tea, add ice cubes and allow to cool before serving.
