Dark Pearl Oolong is an oolong speciality from Taiwan (Formosa), which grows in the Tai Tung region in the east of the island. Here, climatic conditions are excellent; thanks to abundant rainfall and many hours of sunshine. Leaves and buds are picked and processed by hand. Repeated rolling gives the tea leaves their characteristic pearl shape. Tai Tung Oolong is one of the longer fermented qualities, with a bright amber cup and intense aroma.

Preparation
Pour boiling water over 2 tablespoons (approx. 10-12 g)/liter and allow to steep for 2 - 3 minutes. The second infusion also tastes delicious or in a small pot: pour approx. 3g/100ml over 90 °C hot water and allow to steep for approx. 45-60 seconds. Several infusions are recommended until the aroma wears off.
